Upon arrival, responders found multiple injured individuals on the street in front of the 17-story building. Upon arrival, officers met with a security guard who reported that workers at the establishment told him a male was refusing to exit the bathroom. According to the Houston Fire Department, HFD Arson investigators are looking into the cause of the fire. Other residents of the nursing home were allowed to return inside after the incident. Witnesses told police the motorcyclist was racing at a high rate of speed with other vehicles before losing control at a curb and crashing. Officers with the Northeast Division responded to a shooting in progress call. According to police, the homeowner was inside his home when he saw two suspects trying to break into his vehicle. He walked outside and fired in the direction of the suspects, striking one of them. According to the Houston Police Department, Northwest patrol officers responded to the scene and found the 12-year-old, who was transported by Houston Fire Department personnel. HOUSTON, TX – A woman was struck in a hit-and-run crash in the heights earlier this morning. https://youtu.be/6sFByr-poGI The incident happened around 2:32 a.m. in the 2000 block of Bevis, where a female pedestrian was hit. According to police, a rideshare driver captured the collision on dashcam video. The driver fled the scene, and the woman was transported to a hospital. A vehicle that had crashed in a ditch a couple of blocks away was later brought to the hit-and-run scene by officers. The driver of that vehicle was detained by officers, but as of last check with HPD, no one had been detained in connection with the hit-and-run. The investigation is ongoing.
