FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas, July 10, 2024 – The Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office Cold Case Team has exhumed remains in an effort to resolve a cold case from 1964, leveraging recent advancements in forensic biology and DNA analysis. Authorities hope these technological advances will generate new leads and help close the longstanding case. The remains, identified as those of a dark-haired white male approximately 6 feet tall and weighing between 180-185 pounds, were originally discovered on June 11, 1964, off FM 359 near the Jones Creek bridge. The victim, around 50 years old at the time of his death, was found decapitated with his hands and legs amputated and left in a ditch. Suspect charged in death of cyclist found in drainage ditch by construction workers

FOR BEND COUNTY, TX (July 2, 2024) - Deputies with the Fort Bend County Sheriff's office have arrested a 33-year-old man by the name of Emilio Cruz, Jr., who they say hit a cyclist and left him in a ditch. Emilio Cruz Jr. (FBCSO) According to the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office, construction workers found the cyclist on June 11, 2024 in the 6900 block of FM 361 near Pine Meadow Lane in Needville, TX. When deputies arrived they found 61-year-old Enrique Gomez in a drainage ditch and a damaged bicycle nearby. Enrique was pronounced deceased at the scene. Man charged with murder after shooting another man and leaving him on a roadway to die in Fort Bend County

Brian Bush, 45, has been arrested and charged with murder in connection to the fatal shooting of Earl Green, 41, on February 28 at 16099 Blue Ridge Road. The charges were filed in the 458th District Court in Fort Bend County. Brian Bush - Courtesy of HPD Upon responding to the incident, HPD patrol officers found Green unresponsive in the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of Houston Fire Department paramedics, Green was pronounced dead at the scene. After conducting further investigations, Bush was identified as the suspect in the case. He was arrested on March 6 on an unrelated felony warrant, and subsequently charged for his involvement in Green's murder after consultation with homicide detectives and the Fort Bend County District Attorney's Office.
