HOUSTON, TX – A Houston firefighter has been charged with credit card abuse following an investigation by the Harris County Precinct One Constable’s Office. Among the allegations, Jones is accused of attempting to use the victim’s credit card online to purchase a shirt and pair of sneakers totaling $650 from GOAT. AUSTIN, TX – A man was fatally shot early Sunday morning outside a convenience store in north Austin, and police are asking the public for help in identifying the suspect. The Austin Police Department responded at 3:11 a.m. on October 12, 2025, to the 7-Eleven located at 1822 Rutland Drive. Officers found a man lying in the parking lot next to his vehicle with gunshot wounds. The victim, identified as Quinton Arnold, 37, was pronounced deceased at 4:19 a.m. According to investigators, Arnold had been standing outside the store when a vehicle approached, opened fire, struck him, and fled the scene. DALLAS COUNTY, TX – Mosquito samples collected in four cities have tested positive for West Nile Virus, according to an update released October 15, 2025. Health officials confirmed that one mosquito pool in each of the following ZIP codes returned positive test results: DeSoto (75115) Duncanville (75116) Glenn Heights (75154) Lancaster (75146) A total of four new positive mosquito pools were identified in this latest surveillance round. Local health departments may implement spraying or other mosquito control measures in the affected areas.

AUSTIN, TX – A 26-year-old man has been arrested and charged with murder following the death of his ex-girlfriend, 27-year-old Nitza Debiase, who was found strangled in her Austin apartment. On Sunday, October 5, 2025, at approximately 11:53 a.m., Austin Police responded to a call reporting a deceased person at 4406 Avenue A, Unit #3. Officers arrived and found Debiase deceased in her bed. She was pronounced dead at 12:04 p.m. An investigation by homicide detectives and crime scene specialists determined that Debiase had been physically attacked and strangled by her ex-boyfriend, Paul Allen, who then fled the scene. According to Constable Terry Albritton, deputies with the Harris County Constable Precinct 5 Toll Road Division conducted the stop and observed several criminal indicators during the encounter with the vehicle’s occupants.
