HOUSTON, TX – With less than a year until Houston hosts matches for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Houston Airports is finalizing key infrastructure projects to accommodate the expected influx of international travelers. According to Airport Director Jim Szczesniak, the new international terminal at George Bush Intercontinental Airport will be fully operational and “completely broken in” before the tournament begins. The former Terminal D space will be repurposed as a ground transportation hub to better manage shuttle services in coordination with METRO and private operators. STAFFORD, TX – DEA Houston Division executed a search warrant this morning at 4003 Greenbriar Drive, uncovering a significant illegal marijuana warehouse. HARRIS COUNTY, TX – Detectives with Constable Mark Herman’s Special Victims Unit arrested Christopher Ballard, 34, after an investigation revealed multiple cases of sexual abuse involving children. The investigation began on August 26, 2025, following a report that led to the discovery of multiple victims. According to Constable Herman’s Office, the Harris County District Attorney’s Office accepted multiple first-degree felony charges, including continuous sexual abuse of a child, aggravated sexual assault of a child, and indecency with a child.
