HOUSTON, TX – The fatal shooting of a 23-year-old woman at 3415 Cline Street will be referred to a Harris County grand jury. The shooting occurred about 2:20 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 20. The identity of the woman is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. According to the Houston Police Department Homicide Division, patrol officers responded to a shooting call and learned the woman had suffered at least one gunshot wound. HOUSTON, TX – Charges have been filed against a suspect in connection with the fatal shooting of a man found in the 11400 block of South Drive about 8:25 p.m. on May 4. The suspect, Jessy Saba, 41, is charged with murder in the 482nd State District Court. He was taken into custody by the Huntsville Police Department on August 12 and later booked into the Harris County Jail on August 19. The victim has been identified as Merlin Alberto, 27. According to the Houston Police Department Homicide Division, officers responded to the scene and found Alberto lying unresponsive on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound. Texas Children's neurosurgeon Dr. Daniel Curry leads the first-ever FDA-approved gene therapy treatment for AADC deficiency.
