Newsflare Introduces AI Training Licensing for Video Content

(July 18, 2024) - Newsflare, a company that allows users to license their video content to newsrooms announced that they are now offering video content creators the opportunity to license their videos for AI training. The Newsflare Homepage Newsflare did not specify which AI companies will be using the videos for training purposes but did give creators a way to opt-out if they do not want their videos to participate. It should be noted that Newsflare has automatically enrolled videos into the new program. Artificial intelligence models like OpenAI's ChatGPT 4o have recently started to give users a way to create videos using artificial intelligence.

Montgomery man uses artificial intelligence to create child pornography

MONTGOMERY, TX - According to Constable Ryan Gable, of Montgomery County Precinct 3, their Human Trafficking Unit started an investigation into Roman Shoffner, a 30-year-old man living in Montgomery County back on May 15, 2024, for Child Pornography. Through the investigation, investigators determined that Shoffner used an artificial intelligence program to alter a picture of a 17-year-old's photo by having the app depict what the 17-year-old's body would look like without clothes. Detectives then seized his phone and had it forensically analyzed and obtained enough probable cause to arrest him for Child Pornography. Shoffner was then arrested on June 28, 2024.

T-Mobile's rideshare advertising network, Octopus Interactive (Play Octopus) sent an e-mail out to drivers on Thursday afternoon after stating that drivers may have noticed that the driver dashboard was unavailable due to maintenance. The Play Octopus tablet is pretty popular among drivers since Uber and Lyft drivers can sign up for a free tablet, drive around, and earn advertising revenue. This is popular among riders because they get to play games with a chance to win cash prizes. The e-mail sent on June 30, 2022, was sent to all drivers who have the Play Octopus tablet and notified drivers if they had been breached or not.
