HOUSTON (June 18, 2023) — A 28-year-old woman was fatally shot in an apparent drive-by shooting outside her residence in Houston, police said.
The incident occurred around 1 a.m. on Sunday, June 18, at 6420 Stratton Street, according to the Houston Police Department Homicide Division.
The woman and several family members were outside their home when a vehicle believed to be a dark blue or purple sedan, possibly an Infinity, repeatedly drove past their residence. During the final pass, an unidentified assailant fired shots from within the vehicle, striking the woman.
Emergency responders from the Houston Fire Department transported the woman to Ben Taub General Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
The identity of the woman is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. No suspect has been identified yet.
