Fatal House Fire in Southeast Houston Under Arson Investigation

HOUSTON, Texas – A man has been confirmed dead following a house fire in a southeast Houston neighborhood. The incident occurred at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Friday, January 19, 2024, at 5114 Nassau Road.

Firefighters received several calls about the blaze, reporting that there might be victims trapped inside. The response to the house fire was delayed due to a report of another fire at an apartment building.

Upon arrival at the Nassau Road residence, fire crews encountered heavy flames. A person outside the house informed the firefighters of another individual still inside. Firefighters entered the home and extracted the victim through a window.

The identity of the deceased and information regarding any other occupants in the house at the time of the fire have not been disclosed. Arson officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
