Man survives being struck by a freight train

HOUSTON – According to the Houston Police Department, a man was spotted shortly after 3 a.m. walking on railroad tracks near Hempstead Rd and 610. A conductor who was in a stopped train spotted the man cross in front of his train before witnessing the man being struck by an oncoming freight train.

Once the train stopped, the conductor then checked on the man. The Houston Fire Department then carried him into the back of an ambulance and the man was transported to a nearby hospital.
