HOUSTON, TX, June 5, 2024 – The State of Texas has filed a felony murder charge against Quan Sergio Flowers. The arrest stems from an incident on May 3, 2024, where Flowers is accused of intentionally causing the death of Megan Rouse by shooting her with a firearm. Flowers was apprehended on May 31, 2024.
According to court documents, on May 3, 2024, at approximately 10:49 PM, HPD officers responded to a shooting in the 13700 block of Anagnost Road. The victim, later identified as Megan Rouse, was found unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds and severe blunt force trauma. Evidence collected at the scene included cartridge casings and a wallet containing Rouse’s identification.
Subsequent investigations linked the cartridge casings to two previous aggravated assault cases in Houston. Surveillance footage from nearby businesses and Google location data corroborated the presence of a dark-colored sedan, driven by Flowers, in the vicinity at the time of the incident.
Flowers, who was driving a 2022 dark grey Chevy Malibu registered to his girlfriend, was also implicated in a related kidnapping and extortion case involving a missing person.
On May 29, 2024, an arrest warrant was issued for Flowers by a Harris County District Court Judge. Flowers was detained on May 31, 2024, and questioned by HPD detectives. During the interview, Flowers admitted to being in the area but denied involvement in Rouse’s murder.
Bond is set for Flowers at $450,000.
