TOMBALL, TX – A man went into cardiac arrest after suffering smoke inhalation during a fire at the Vantage at Tomball Apartments late Thursday morning.
According to the Klein Fire Department, emergency crews were dispatched at 11:26 a.m. to the second floor of the apartment complex, located in the 9100 block of FM 2920 Road, for a reported structure fire and medical emergency. Upon arrival, firefighters found smoke coming from a balcony and located a man experiencing a medical emergency inside the unit.
According to Constable Mark Herman with Harris County Precinct 4, the man suffered from smoke inhalation and went into cardiac arrest. First responders immediately began CPR and life-saving efforts before he was transported to an area hospital by ESD 11 Mobile Healthcare. His current condition is not known at this time.
Responding units included Klein Fire Department units D30, D31, E31, E38, and TW37; Spring Fire Department E72; Tomball Fire Department E4; ESD 11; and Harris County Constable Precinct 4.
