One killed, three hospitalized in four-vehicle East Freeway crash

HOUSTON, TX – One person was killed and three others were hospitalized following a four-vehicle crash around 6:07 p.m. in the westbound lanes of the East Freeway near Freeport Street.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash involving a Honda sedan, Hyundai sedan, BMW SUV and a heavy hauler parked for road construction.

The passenger vehicles came into contact before leaving the main lanes and entering the service road. It is not exactly clear what happened or what caused the crash at this time.

The Honda overturned, and its driver was hospitalized in stable condition.

The Hyundai struck the parked truck. Its driver and another occupant were hospitalized in critical but stable condition. A third occupant was killed.

All occupants were adults. No juveniles were involved. Intoxication was not suspected, and all drivers cooperated with the investigation.
