HOUSTON, TX – Dr. Matthews and Nathaniel Richardson held a press conference outside the First Court of Appeals in Harris County, where they alleged misconduct and due process violations related to Richardson’s ongoing legal case.
During the press conference, Dr. Matthews identified Justice Kristin Guiney and alleged that court records, rulings, and procedural actions in Richardson’s case demonstrate corruption and what she described as the weaponization of the court system against him.
According to Dr. Matthews, Richardson’s case originated from an arrest involving a commissioned security officer. She alleged that documents show Richardson was not trespassing at the location cited in the case and claimed the officer involved had a history of similar reports.
Dr. Matthews further alleged that Richardson’s legal proceedings contain irregularities involving case numbering, a denied habeas corpus application, due process concerns, jurisdictional issues, and appellate procedures. She stated that a legal team reviewed court records and produced an audit identifying what they described as constitutional concerns, record inconsistencies, and procedural deficiencies.
Richardson told reporters that he believes procedural errors and court actions prevented his claims from receiving full review. He alleged that referral orders, appeal certifications, and court records affected his ability to challenge the case. He also referenced a commissioned security officer named Kenny King and alleged a pattern of misconduct involving prior incidents and civil litigation.
Richardson said the legal issues have continued to affect multiple aspects of his life, including employment opportunities, housing, community activities, and firearm rights.
Dr. Matthews stated that the legal team’s audit identified alleged constitutional violations, record discrepancies, and concerns involving court procedures. She said the findings were based on court documents and records provided by Richardson.
The allegations presented during the press conference have not been independently verified. No response from Justice Kristin Guiney or the court was presented during the press conference.
The matter remains the subject of ongoing legal proceedings.
