HOUSTON, Texas – A woman was pistol-whipped and shot during an attempted carjacking in the 2500 block of Eagle Street around 2:30 a.m. earlier today.

Police say the woman, who is in her mid-20s, was visiting her boyfriend when an armed man approached her and attempted to steal her vehicle. The man struck her in the back of the head with the firearm and shot her in the left shoulder.

The woman ran to her boyfriend’s home and called 911. Houston firefighters transported her to a hospital, where she was listed in stable condition.

The man fled without the vehicle. He was described as a light-skinned Black man wearing dark clothing and a black-and-white hat.

Officers searched the area but did not find him. Investigators are searching for surveillance video and asking anyone with information to contact the Houston Police Department’s Major Assaults Division or Crime Stoppers.
