PALO ALTO, CA – Police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred late Saturday night on Alma Street near the University Avenue overcrossing. The crash happened on September 28, 2025, at approximately 11:57 p.m. According to the Palo Alto Police Department, officers and Palo Alto Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and found a man in his forties unconscious inside a pickup truck. He was extricated and transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. Preliminary findings indicate the pickup was traveling northbound on Alma Street when it left the roadway and struck the elevated median. No other vehicles are believed to have been involved. MALIBU, CA – A pedestrian was critically injured after being struck by a vehicle Friday night at the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Carbon Canyon Road. According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the incident occurred around 9:41 p.m. on September 26, 2025. A blue BMW sedan was traveling westbound in the No. 1 lane of Pacific Coast Highway when it hit a male pedestrian who was crossing the street outside of a marked crosswalk. The pedestrian was transported by ambulance to a local hospital, where he is listed in critical condition. The investigation is ongoing.
