Man dies after late-night shooting near Las Palmas apartment complex in northeast Harris County

HARRIS COUNTY, TX – According to a press release from the Harris County Sheriff's Office, a man died following a shooting late Tuesday night near the Las Palmas apartment complex in the 6000 block of Hamill Road. The above photo was sent in by one of our viewers via tips@houstonstringer.com Deputies responded at approximately 11:30 p.m. on April 22, 2025, after a 911 caller reported a male shot in the grass on the south side of the road. EMS transported the adult male to a local hospital, where he died during surgery. Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators processed the scene and interviewed several individuals who arrived after the shooting. No witnesses saw the incident occur, and no suspect has been identified. An autopsy will be conducted within the next 24 hours...

SILVER SPRING, MD – Montgomery County Police are searching for 17-year-old Tanease Callands, who was last seen on the evening of Friday, April 18, 2025, in the 8800 block of Lanier Drive. She has several distinctive tattoos: a red heart near her left eye, a butterfly on her chest, and the letters “TY” in cursive on her right wrist or arm.
