One person transported to hospital after house fire in northeast Houston

HOUSTON, TX – One person was transported to the hospital as a precaution following a house fire in the 5500 block of Weaver Drive in northeast Houston. https://youtu.be/1eCDtD5tdqg Houston Fire Department crews were dispatched to the scene around 10:11 p.m. and arrived by 10:15 p.m. to find the structure heavily involved in flames. Reports indicated that all occupants had exited the residence prior to firefighters’ arrival. Crews conducted an offensive fire attack while confirming that no one remained inside the structure. No firefighter injuries were reported. Arson investigators are on scene to determine the cause of the fire.

Driver in critical condition after driving recklessly on Eastex Freeway

HOUSTON, TX – A multi-vehicle crash occurred around 12:14 a.m. in the 17100 block of the Eastex Freeway, involving a black sedan, a pickup truck, and an 18-wheeler. https://youtu.be/sSpnXtnJJWo The black sedan was reportedly traveling northbound at a high rate of speed and weaving through traffic before striking the pickup truck. The impact caused the pickup to collide with an 18-wheeler and then a utility pole. The driver of the black sedan was transported to the hospital in critical condition and remains in critical condition as of the last update. CHANNELVIEW, TX – A man was shot and killed following an argument outside a residence in the 16000 block of Avenue C. https://youtu.be/MLH5BcGzQU0 The Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded to the shooting around 7:40 p.m. Deputies arrived to find an adult Hispanic male unresponsive in the front yard. EMS pronounced him deceased at the scene. Investigators say the suspect was first involved in a verbal disturbance with another man, which did not result in gunfire. After that individual left, the suspect engaged in a second argument with the complainant, which escalated and ended with the shooting. Grand jury to review fatal shooting at OYO Hotel on Katy Freeway

HOUSTON, TX – The fatal shooting of a man at the OYO Hotel located at 14833 Katy Freeway (West Interstate Highway 10) that occurred around 5:20 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, will be presented to a Harris County grand jury for review. The deceased male, 37, was pronounced deceased at the scene by Houston Fire Department paramedics. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. According to Houston Police Department Homicide Division investigators, the 23-year-old male shooter was not injured. He fled the scene but later turned himself in to the Sugar Land Police Department. Suspect turns himself in after fatal shooting at OYO Hotel on Katy Freeway

HOUSTON, TX – A man is dead and another in custody after a fatal shooting Tuesday afternoon at a hotel on the city’s west side. Houston Police Westside officers responded to the OYO Hotel located in the 14800 block of the Katy Freeway, where they found an adult male deceased at the scene. The suspect, also an adult male, fled on foot after the shooting. The Sugar Land Police Department later confirmed that the suspect turned himself in.
