GONZALES, Texas - Jan. 29, 2024 - The Gonzales County Sheriff's Office is actively seeking information regarding the whereabouts of Scarlett Smith, a 14-year-old girl last seen in the 15700 block of West US 90 A, Gonzales, TX at approximately 11:00 PM on Jan. 29, 2024. Scarlett is described as a white female with hazel eyes and red or auburn hair. She is about 54 inches tall and weighs approximately 187 pounds. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a red Nike hoodie. The primary suspect in this abduction is Barry Van Mersbergen, also known as Ben, a 22-year-old white male. HARRIS COUNTY - (January 30, 2024) - According to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, units from the Harris County Sheriff's Office responded to a fatal collision involving a train and a pedestrian. The incident occurred in the 6400 block of Ackley, with the initial impact reported near Homestead and Hamill Road. The pedestrian involved in the collision has been confirmed deceased. ATASCOCITA, TX - (January 29, 2024) - The Atascocita Fire Department responded to an accident on Atascocita Rd in front of the Lindsay/Lyons Park and Sports Complex just after 9 p.m. https://youtube.com/shorts/YZD7J7OiGMY?feature=share At least one person appeared to be loaded onto a stretcher and transported to a local hospital. The extent of their injuries is not known at this time.

According to the Houston Police Department, Vehicular Crimes detectives are currently at the scene of a fatal auto-pedestrian accident that occurred around 12:25 p.m. at 900 Milam St, near Walker St. in Downtown Houston. 900 Milam The public is advised to avoid the area as the investigation is ongoing. MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX - LaMajay Hill, a juvenile, has been reported missing in Montgomery County, Texas. He was last seen on January 11, 2024, leaving his residence near the 25000 block of Ramrock Drive in Porter. At the time, he was wearing a white hoodie, black jeans, and blue shoes. The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office is seeking any information regarding LaMajay's whereabouts. The Bellaire Police Department is requesting the public's assistance on January 29, 2024, in identifying suspects involved in case #24-0020. The incident took place on Friday, January 5th, 2024, around 10 pm, in the 4600 block of Verone Street. Two suspects arrived in a newer model, dark grey Cadillac. The driver stepped out and fired several rounds from a rifle into the complainant’s vehicle. A $5,000 cash reward is being offered for information leading to the identification, charging, or arrest of the suspects. HARRIS COUNTY, TX - A driver, suspected of being intoxicated, was arrested after crashing into a Precinct 4 Constable Deputy's vehicle last night, shortly before 10:00 pm, according to Constable Mark Herman. Deputy Leon, from Constable Mark Herman's Office, was assisting the Atascocita Fire Department with traffic control near Atascocita Road and Eagle Springs Parkway when the incident occurred. https://youtu.be/eCGWzkFzxdo The suspect, who displayed multiple signs of intoxication, was detained at the scene. Deputy Leon suffered serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The suspect is set to be booked into the Harris County Jail following his release from the hospital.

Tonnette Carter was apprehended on January 27, 2024, following a vehicle pursuit that ended in front of Memorial Hermann. The incident began when a deputy from Constable Mark Herman's Office attempted a traffic stop in the 3800 block of Atascocita Road. Carter, the driver, did not comply, leading to a chase that concluded in the 14200 block of East Sam Houston North, in front Memorial Hermann. Carter showed several signs of intoxication. After Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, it was confirmed she was intoxicated. She was arrested and taken to the Harris County Jail, charged with Evading in a Motor Vehicle and Driving While Intoxicated. HOUSTON - Jan. 28, 2024 - 12:10 a.m. - A major accident occurred on the mainlanes of 59, the Southwest Freeway heading northbound in Houston. The incident involved a motorcycle and two vehicles. The motorcyclist, attempting to take an exit at the last minute, collided with a vehicle and was ejected from the bike. The motorcyclist landed in the exit lane and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Another car, unable to avoid the motorcycle, collided with it, though the rider was no longer on it. No other injuries were reported. Investigations into the crash are ongoing.
