Houston man suing Whataburger over food poisoning, seeks at least $200k

A Harris County man is asking for at least $200,000 after he claims that the popular fast food franchise, Whataburger gave him food poisoning. According to initial court documents filed on behalf of Robert Catano by his attorney, Vu Nguyen of Nguyen and Associates, the Catano ate lunch at a Whataburger in west Houston, located at 2429 Gessner Rd., back in October of 2020. Shortly after eating his lunch, the man says he started to feel sharp pains in his stomach. He then went to Memorial Herman Hospital to receive treatment. Doctors at Memorial Herman Hospital then referred him to a specialist and he was then treated by multiple medical providers for his "foodborne illness" according to the court documents. Police detain man outside of elementary school in Texas

October 14, 2022 - A man was spotted being placed into the back of a Precinct 4 Harris County Constable's vehicle in handcuffs. This incident took place as the school was getting out for the day at an elementary school on Woodland Hills Dr. in Humble, Texas around 3:30 p.m. According to the Humble ISD, police were called to the school after the man came and walked on campus. The man was placed into custody, (but not arrested) for his own safety since it was believed he was having mental health issues. Several staff members were seen surrounding the man and talking to officers.

A lawsuit has been filed against a Houston car dealer by a daughter whose mother was tragically killed when her car stalled out on I-45 and was subsequently rear-ended by a tractor-trailer. The lawsuit claims the dealership improperly installed the wrong car battery. According to court documents, Brenda Patterson (the mother) was in Dallas and decided to come down to Houston on December 26, 2018, to complete the purchase of the vehicle after her son-in-law helped negotiate a price on a Honda Accord on Gillman Honda's lot. As employees at Gillman started to prepare the vehicle for pick-up, they found that the car would not start. Police say he is responsible for multiple robberies of Cricket cell phone stores and smoke shops. He is described as a black male, in his twenties with a slim build. He has been spotted with glasses, a gold chain and a medical face mask. He is also known to carry a white fanny pack where he keeps his gun. The first of these three accidents occurred when a motorcycle and a Chevy Equinox collided in the 700 block of Little York, near Airline St. in north Houston. First responders were dispatched around 12:45 a.m. to the accident.
