“Beer cans everywhere” – Witness describes the scene of an accident that left an SUV on a guardrail on the Eastex Freeway

December 23, 2022 - A witness sent this photo in of a Ford Expedition that had crashed out and ended up a guardrail in north Houston on the Eastex Freeway at the E Mount Houston exit Friday evening. While no official cause has been given regarding the accident, the witness who sent this photo in stated that there were "beer cans everywhere". According to Lt. Willkens of the Houston Police Department, a homeless in his 60's was placed by a friend in a wheelchair next to a makeshift fire in the 2700 block of Scott Street in Houston, Texas. A fatal accident occurred in the 7000 block of Gessner near Neff Street in Houston, Texas. around 2:45 a.m. According to police, the man was traveling at a high rate of speed and lost control of his vehicle. Police say the impact of his vehicle hitting a tree split the vehicle into two pieces. The man was the only one inside the vehicle at the time. Family sues HOA after woman dies because of toxic mold infestation at an apartment complex in Houston

The family of a Houston woman has filed a wrongful death lawsuit in Harris County District Court after they say a toxic mold infestation took over the woman’s home when the homeowners association failed to make sure repairs were done correctly. The woman later developed cancer and died because of the mold the lawsuit alleges. The woman’s troubles began during Hurricane Harvey back in August 2017. At one point during the hurricane, water entered the woman’s home and caused damages. The woman then reported the water damage to the homeowner’s association, Cambridge Court Owner’s Association as well as the management company for the complex, Creative Management, Co. Houston woman arrested for driving while intoxicated with a child in Webster, TX

A woman was arrested after she was caught driving while intoxicated with a child in the 200 block of Blossom in Webster, TX. Bonnie Scheier Mugshot - Courtesy of WPD According to court documents, Bonnie Scheier of Houston (52) was arrested around 7 p.m. on December 21, 2022, for a DWI with a child that was under 15 years old. It appears this is her first offense, at least in Harris County. Her next court date is set for December 27, 2022, and a bond amount has not been set yet. This has been referred to a magistrate to decide. Her relationship to the child is not known at this time.

Houston man kills woman while out on $1k bond

A Houston man turned himself into police after he allegedly shot and killed a woman in Houston's Montrose area on Sunday. Police say they arrived to a shooting in the parking lot of a bar located at 2327 Grant Street around 11:10 p.m. on Sunday, December 18, 2022. When they arrived, they found a woman had been shot. The woman, who is believed to be 29 years old, was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. She did not recover and was pronounced deceased on Tuesday, December 20. The man who allegedly shot her, Brandon McKinney, turned himself in to police on December 21, 2022.
