Officer injured in suspected DWI crash on North Freeway entrance ramp

HOUSTON, TX – A Houston police officer was injured in a suspected DWI crash early Saturday morning while conducting traffic control for an earlier incident on the North Freeway. https://youtu.be/Wj69723OcM4 The crash occurred around 1:28 a.m. on the northbound entrance ramp near the 10100 block of the North Freeway Service Road, just before West Road. While the officer was blocking the entry ramp, a pickup truck struck the patrol vehicle, causing significant damage and injuring the officer. The officer was transported to a local hospital and is currently in stable condition. The driver of the pickup truck is in custody, and investigators believe alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.

The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. on October 24, 2025, approximately two miles off San Leon near Pier 6. According to investigators, Follett and his wife had anchored their sailboat near Redfish Island and used a smaller shore boat to reach land. The shore boat later came untied and drifted away, prompting Follett to enter the water in an effort to retrieve it. According to the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division, the incident occurred on July 19, 2025, after the officer responded to assist with an eviction at the residence. TEXAS - A Dallas-area physician, Dr. May Lau, has surrendered her Texas medical license following a lawsuit filed by Attorney General Ken Paxton accusing her of prescribing gender transition drugs to minors in violation of state law. File Photo (September 2025) According to the Texas Attorney General’s Office, Dr. Lau entered into a Rule 11 agreement that initially required her to cease practicing medicine while the case was pending. Her subsequent surrender of her license permanently bars her from practicing medicine in Texas. Attorney General Paxton stated that the surrender “is a major victory for our state,” adding that his office will continue pursuing the case alleging Lau violated state law by prescribing cross-sex hormones to minors.
