Truck found in Greens Bayou with bullet holes after report of shooting in Greenspoint

The Houston Police Department along with the Houston Fire Department responded to a report of someone firing into the water (Greens Bayou) in the 13100 block of Northborough Dr, and that someone may have been shot around 10 p.m. on July 11, 2022. The shooting occurred in the Greenspoint area of Houston, TX. When the first responders arrived, they found a truck inside Greens Bayou that had been left running. Firefighters along with the Houston Police Department searched inside the vehicle and went up and down the bayou looking for victims. They did not find any. The person that called in the shooting reported seeing a "black male shooting a rifle" into the water. Woman arrested for using fake police reports to defraud financial institutions of $3.3M to fix customer’s credit scores

Harris County, TX - A woman was arrested in Harris County after a warrant was issued for her arrest and deputies with Constable Mark Herman's Office conducted a raid at her office on JFK Boulevard, near Bush Intercontinental Airport for taking part in a scheme to defraud financial institutions of more than $3.3 million dollars. According to the court documents, filed in Harris County District Court, Roekeicha Lashay Brisby of "Rose Credit Repair", would charge customers between $100 and $200 a month to fix their credit. Below, you will find a few stories we came across last night and captured on camera. - In NW Harris County, an alleged shoplifter grabbed an officer's taser during a fight during the suspect's arrest around 6:30 p.m. on July 8, 2022. - At 12:05 a.m., (now July 9, 2022), first responders were dispatched to the 5800 block of Neches, (intersection of Kelley @ 59, just north of downtown, Houston) to a motorcycle rider that took a nasty fall. A shoplifter is dead after grabbing a deputy’s taser in NW Harris County

According to Sgt. Jason Brown during a press briefing, the incident started around 6:30 p.m., at the Dollar General located at 2004 W FM 1960 in Houston. Brown states the employees called the police after the man was caught shoplifting and pushing a manager. Deputies responded to the call and a Harris County Seargent, and a 15-year veteran with the department spotted him just south of the Dollar General. At that point, the Seargent tried to stop the suspect but he fled on foot and made it about 100 yards before the officer caught up to him. Once the officer. caught up to the suspect, a fight ensued. Bomb Squad called to Hobby Airport after a K-9 alerted TSA to a suspicious piece of luggage

Hobby Airport, in South Houston, was placed on lockdown after a TSA dog that was on a routine patrol alerted authorities to a piece of luggage according to Megan Howard, the Tactical Operations Division Commander for the Houston Police Department in a press statement. The incident occurred at about 9 a.m. on Friday, July 8, 2022. According to Commander Howard, TSA followed protocols and alerted the Houston Police Department which then sent out the bomb squad to investigate. Houston Airport was also notified and worked to block off the area where the piece of luggage was while redirecting passengers to another part of the airport in order to reroute passengers. Rocky Mountain Gun Owners (RMGO), a group of far-right gun owners decided to sue the town of Colorado and filed a complaint to block bans on assault weapons and to protect their right to carry firearms in public in federal court on Thursday, July 7, 2022. Colorado passed a law in 2021 after a deadly shooting at a supermarket in Boulder, CO, to give more power to local governments for gun regulation. Former cop who killed George Floyd, Derek Chauvin gets a 21-year sentence for violating Floyd’s civil rights

The former Minneapolis cop who killed George Floyd has now received an additional 21-year sentence in federal court. This is in addition to charges of manslaughter and murder Chauvin was convicted last June and will be served separately. The plea agreement called for Chauvin to receive a sentence of 20 to 25 years for the killing of Floyd. Chauvin killed Floyd after he used his knee to pin him to the pavement in front of a Minneapolis corner store for at least eight minutes and forty-six seconds as Floyd pleaded that he could not breathe and eventually lost consciousness. Body found in a field by the University of Houston in 3rd Ward

 A man's body was found off an entrance to IH-45 in the 2000 block of Cullen on Wednesday afternoon, just across the freeway from the University of Houston, just east of Downtown Houston. Houston Police, during a press briefing, stated the man's body was found by a Houston Fire Department apparatus as it was returning to the station after a call. Firefighters stopped to check on the man and determined that he was already deceased. The firefighters reported their findings to the Houston Police Department at which point a homicide investigation began. The man, who has not been identified was found by the entrance ramp. In a class-action lawsuit filed in Illinois Federal court, African-American State Farm agents claim they are discriminated against because of "firm-wide policies and practices" which subject the agents to lower pay on a systemic basis as well as a high turnover rate. State Farm sought to have this case dismissed, but a federal judge in Illinois ruled in favor of the agents on July 1, 2022. The lawsuit, claims that through the Term Independent Contractor Agents (TICA) program, State Farm requires that agents invest "substantial sums of their own money in rent, offices, marketing, sales leads, and hiring a team.", after taking a 17-week course ran by State Farm. An e-mail was sent out over the weekend to residents of Atascocita Forest in Atascocita, TX, a suburb of Harris County, TX regarding an incident that took place on July 2, 2022, at the Atascocita Forest Swimming Pool (17415 Woodland Hills Dr, Humble, TX 77396). According to the e-mail, the two men decided to walk around the parking lot with a rifle after being told to leave the pool by lifeguards after getting into an argument with some others at the pool.
