A Toyota RAV 4 with Texas dealer plates took Houston Police on a chase through north Houston early Monday morning around 3 a.m. on July 4, 2022, before crashing into a ditch on Exeter St. at Skinner Rd. According to police radio traffic, the chase started when the suspects when police were called after several suspects were caught breaking into vehicles in the 1700 block of Wellington Street, which is between Aldine Westfield and the Hardy Toll road. The caller stated that there were three vehicles total, with a total of six suspects, all males in their 20s and 30s. The caller stated also stated that the suspects were stealing parts off vehicles using a "jigsaw". The three vehicles were described as a "silver Cadillac, gray and brown Jeep, and a blue truck." According to Officer Mayfield with the Houston Police Department, first responders were dispatched to the drive-by shooting at 9:04 p.m. late Sunday, July 3, 2022. The shooting took place at the Conoco Phillips gas station located on the corner of Berry Rd. and Airline Dr. (4840 Airline Dr, Houston, TX 77022). Officer Mayfield explained that when first responders arrived, they found the male victim in a silver Chevy SUV, with a gunshot wound. The victim was taken by paramedics with the Houston Fire Department to a local hospital in Houston. This is only allowed in food or drink form and can only be purchased by those over the age of 21, similar to the legal drinking age. The Play Octopus tablet is pretty popular among drivers since Uber and Lyft drivers can sign up for a free tablet, drive around, and earn advertising revenue. Kaitlin Armstrong was captured in Costa Rica at the Santa Teresa Beach hostel by U.S. Marshals on Wednesday, June 29 after being on the run for 43 days according to a press release. The U.S. Marshal's said in the statement that they were able to find her after learning just the week prior to her capture that she had sold her Jeep Grand Cherokee to a CarMax dealership in south Austin for $12,200. After selling her car, she left on a plane from ABIA in Austin, to Hobby Airport from Houston. She then booked a flight under her name to New York LaGuardia airport. FCC Commissioner, Brendan Carr, posted an open letter to his Twitter account to both Apple and Google requesting they both remove the popular social media app TikTok app from their app stores due to growing national security concerns over the app. In the letter, Carr alleges that TikTok is a "sophisticated surveillance tool that harvests extensive amounts of personal and sensitive data." and goes on to state that the popular video app collects everything "from search and browsing histories to keystroke patterns and biometric identifiers, including faceprints", which could be used in facial recognition technology as well as voiceprints and the list goes on from there.
