Investigation Opened after Officer-Involved Shooting on Mount Houston According to the Houston Police Department, an officer-involved shooting occurred in the 700 block of West Mount Houston. Witnesses say the shooting took place at the Ramos Tire Shop in the Hidden Valley Shopping Center. The suspect was taken to an area hospital. The official investigation, however, remains ongoing. In a press briefing, Executive Assistant Chief Satterwhite with the Houston Police Department said that the suspect was armed with two firearms and has been linked to organized crime. Police had come to remove him from the property as a trespasser. When the officers entered, the suspect lunged for a firearm that was located on a table when officers decided to open fire for their protection.

A food delivery robot operated by a company named Coco was turning heads when it was spotted in Downtown Houston by The Shops at Downtown Houston today. According to their website, customers place an order through the Coco app, the robot, which is remotely piloted is then driven to the merchant to pick up the order and is then driven to the customer, in 15 minutes or less. According to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez: “HCSOTexas units are investigating a major crash at 12399 Jones Rd, involving one of our on-duty deputies and another vehicle. Both our deputy and an occupant in the other vehicle have been transported to the hospital. Houston Police shoot a man armed with a knife who was found by a stabbing victim at the Hanover - Autry Park According to Houston Police, officers responded to an assault call in the 800 block of Buffalo Park Drive. They found a man with a knife over the victim. The man "advanced on the officers who then discharged their weapons, striking him." Houston Police are investigating. Update: According to HPD Chief Troy Finner, at 3:44 a.m., officers were dispatched to an assault in progress. The suspect carjacked a construction worker that was watching over the construction site overnight. A Pct. 7 Constable was killed on April 2, 2022, after she responded to reports of a suspected drunk driver headed down Beltway 8 in Harris County just outside of Houston. The Constable pulled over on the Beltway between Hillcroft and Fondren, to wait for the driver to pass by when she was rear ended by the same driver in a F-550 truck. The impact, made her patrol unit burst into flames. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

A pedestrian was fatally struck while crossing a street by a vehicle on int eh 10000 Block of Telephone Road in South Houston. The call was dispatched on April 3, 2022 at 1:25 a.m. Houston Police found a vehicle nearby that had major front end damage that likely struck the pedestrian.
