HOUSTON, TX – Houston police are requesting the public's assistance in locating a person of interest in the fatal shooting of a man and the wounding of a woman at an apartment complex located in the 400 block of Greens Road. The incident occurred around 8:50 p.m. on Wednesday (September 18). The person of interest is identified as 41-year-old Jerrell Butler. A photo of Butler is below. The identity of the deceased male, 37, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. HOUSTON, TX – The Texas Center for the Missing has issued a Silver Alert on behalf of the Houston Police Department for 59-year-old Kelvin Butler. Butler was last seen on September 18, 2024, at 4:30 p.m. in the 9900 block of Sharpcrest. He was wearing a brown T-shirt with black print (Reebok), black and white joggers, and black tennis shoes. Butler has been diagnosed with dementia and is non-verbal. Authorities urge anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact the Houston Police Department immediately.
