Man arrested after leading police on a short chase in a U-Haul Truck in northeast Houston

A man was arrested after he led police on a brief pursuit in northeast Houston around 3 a.m. on August 14, 2022. https://www.youtube.com/embed/7FKoE_sZkfY The chase ended in the 6700 block of Mariosa Street near Petyon Street after the suspect bailed at a dead-end and towards the Summit at Bennington apartment complex located at 6767 Bennington Street. Police were able to capture him without further incident.

A driver is dead after their vehicle burst into flames when it hit a building

August 13, 2022 - Harris County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a driver crashed into a building which caused the vehicle to burst into flames according to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez. The accident occurred in the 1200 Block of Hill Street just north of Gulf Bank Road near the Hardy Toll Road. Police surround home in Twin Lakes after chase suspect barricades himself

A man decided to lead police on a chase shortly before midnight on August 14, 2022, from Downtown Houston to the Twin Lakes neighborhood in northwest Harris County. Police say he originally ran a red light. Houston Police Units lost sight of the man shortly after he took the I-10 exit from 59 north. A Houston Police helicopter unit was able to spot him and followed him back to the home in the 5500 block of Honor Drive in northwest Harris County. The helicopter unit watched him park the car in the garage and make his way to the main house. Police currently have a perimeter set up around the home and the scene is currently active. Woman dead in fatal crash in front of Xtreme Off Road Park and Beach

Harris County Sheriff Unit Blocking U.S. 90 for fatal accident investigation. A fatal crash occurred on U.S. 90 (Beaumont Hwy) on August 13, 2022. According to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, the accident was a head-on collision. One adult female was pronounced dead at the scene. Negligence is to blame for concrete truck falling off freeway and tragically killing toddler, family attorney says

A mother is grieving after losing her 22-month-old son when a cement truck fell from an above freeway on top of a vehicle below an overpass that was carrying the Resendiz family. The family has now filed a lawsuit in the Harris County District Court asking to be compensated for their son's wrongful death and injuries sustained from the tragic accident. The accident occurred on Beltway 8 East at Woodforest on August 5, 2022. During the initial investigation, Lt. Simon Cheng with the Harris County Sheriff's Office revealed that the driver of the cement mixer stated that the truck started slipping and she lost control of the vehicle, hitting a concrete barrier. Pasadena father accused of brutally murdering his own newborn son back in 2020 is now in custody

After nearly two years, a Pasadena man has finally been charged and arrested in connection with the brutal killing of his six-week-old son, Xavier Jr. According to court documents, on November 11, 2020, paramedics were dispatched to the 200 Block of Vista Road in Pasadena after a report of an unresponsive infant. Upon arrival, paramedics found baby Xavier and rushed him to HCA Houston Healthcare Souteast hospital. Due to the extent of the injuries, baby Xavier was flown to Texas Children's Hospital in the Houston Medical Center where he remained in critical condition for over a week. Baby Xavier was pronounced deceased on November 20, 2020. An autopsy was performed on November 22, 2022. Judge: Walgreens substantially contributed to the opioid epidemic in San Francisco

U.S. District Judge Charles Breyer of the United States District Court in Northern California ruled on Wednesday that Walgreens "substantially contributed to an opioid epidemic in San Francisco". The lawsuit, which was brought on by the City and County of San Francisco, originally had dozens of defendants. Only four of these defendants remained when a trial was held in April. By the end of the closing arguments which took place in July 2022, only Walgreens remained. The other three defendants settled their cases, according to court documents. Judge Breyer agreed that the trial established between 2006 and 2020 that "Walgreens pharmacies in San Francisco dispensed hundreds of thousands of red flag opioid prescriptions without performing adequate due diligence".
