HUMBLE, TX – The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on Aldine Bender near Lee Rd, around 10:30 p.m. https://youtu.be/snHKVl4X7ec According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division, the victim, described as a 50- to 60-year-old man who was possibly homeless, was either crossing or standing in the street when he was hit and projected into the median. EMS pronounced him deceased at the scene. The driver, a man about 40 years old, remained on scene, cooperated with investigators, and showed no signs of intoxication. The case will be reviewed by the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.

DERMOTT, AR – The Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division is investigating after a man was found dead following an apparent hit-and-run late Saturday evening. According to the Dermott Police Department, officers discovered 61-year-old Fredrick Woods deceased at the intersection of North Norwood and West Willow streets on November 8, 2025. Evidence at the scene indicates he was struck by a vehicle that fled the area. Woods’ body will be sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory to determine the exact cause and manner of death. The investigation remains ongoing.

According to preliminary information, the incident happened around 1:40 p.m. on November 9, 2025, when an officer patrolling South Fredrick Road encountered the man, who reportedly brandished a firearm and fired at the officer. The officer returned fire, striking the suspect multiple times. The suspect was flown to the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, where he remains hospitalized. According to the Marianna Police Department, officers responded around 12:44 a.m. on November 9, 2025, after multiple 911 calls reported gunfire in the parking lot of a convenience store at the intersection.
