HOUSTON, TX - A viewer who shared the video said an ambulance left the area with lights and sirens just before 2 a.m., around the same time multiple police units began arriving. The viewer said they began recording around 2:22 a.m. after hearing two loud sounds that sounded like gunshots, but said they could not confirm what the sounds were. The viewer also said the streets were packed with people and vehicles, and that people were seen running down Hyde Park Street across Montrose Boulevard during the early moments of the activity. No additional information has been released.

Upon arrival, the first crews on scene reported the garage of the main residence was fully engulfed in flames, and a second alarm was requested due to the risk of the fire spreading to nearby structures. Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire. Everyone inside the residence was confirmed safe. Mutual aid was provided by the Little York Fire Department, Cypress Creek Fire Department, Champions Fire Department, and Cy-Fair Fire Department.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the deputy was traveling westbound on Beltway 8 with green lights when another vehicle traveling northbound struck the patrol unit. The driver of the other vehicle did not show any signs of injury. After the crash, the other driver was taken into custody on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
