BEAUMONT, TX – Ignite Community School – Beaumont will host a community-wide block party to celebrate its recent A-rating from the Texas Education Agency (TEA). The event will take place October 31 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 10255 Eastex Freeway, Suite 100, in Beaumont. Families and community members are invited to attend and enjoy food, music, games, and giveaways. FORT BEND COUNTY, TX – The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide that occurred in the 10500 block of State Highway 6 South in Sugar Land. Deputies responded around 11:51 a.m. on June 21, 2025, to reports of a white Toyota Camry that had left the roadway and crashed into a ditch along the southbound lanes of State Highway 6 South. Upon arrival, deputies found the driver, identified as 43-year-old Roy Ferrer, deceased from a single gunshot wound to the head. Preliminary findings indicate that road rage may have been a contributing factor in the shooting. Investigators are searching for a vehicle of interest described as a gray 2013–2019 Nissan Sentra with dark-tinted windows. HOUSTON, TX – Houston Police are asking for the public’s help in locating four persons of interest wanted for questioning in connection with the fatal shooting of a man at 201 Plaza Verde Drive around 12:15 a.m. on October 3. The individuals are described only as Black males. Photos of three of the persons of interest have been released, while a fourth male, not pictured, is believed to be associated with the group. According to the HPD Homicide Division, officers responded to a shooting call at an apartment complex on Plaza Verde Drive and found the victim, identified as 35-year-old Lavelle Bryant, near the apartment leasing office.
