Texas City communications director arrested for online harassment

TEXAS CITY, TX – Jennifer Renee Laird, the communications director for the City of Texas City, was arrested Thursday morning on a felony warrant for online harassment. According to the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office, deputies with the Fugitive Apprehension Division took Laird into custody at approximately 8:45 a.m. in the 1800 block of 9th Avenue North. The warrant, obtained by the La Marque Police Department, charges Laird with online harassment – name/persona to create page, a third-degree felony. The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office is encouraging anyone with information about wanted fugitives to contact the Fugitive Apprehension Division at 409-766-2311.

Traffic stop in north Harris County leads to ICE turnover

HARRIS COUNTY, TX – A simple traffic stop in the 24100 block of Aldine Westfield Road led to two arrests and the involvement of federal immigration authorities. According to Constable Mark Herman, Pct. 4, deputies initiated the stop for a traffic violation. During the investigation, one suspect was found to have an active warrant, while another was discovered to have an ICE detainer. Constable Herman’s Office reported that the second suspect attempted to flee from ICE custody but was quickly captured by deputies. Both individuals were taken into custody without further incident. Woman accused of stealing thousands from H-E-B detained on Kuykendahl, turned over to immigration by Pct. 4 deputies

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Deputies with Constable Mark Herman’s Office detained a woman near the 25000 block of Kuykendahl Road after she was accused of shoplifting. Investigators said the woman initially gave deputies a false name. Further investigation revealed she is a habitual theft suspect believed to have stolen thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from multiple H-E-B stores in both Harris and Montgomery counties. Constable Precinct 4 deputies also stated the woman had an active immigration hold. She was released to immigration authorities at the scene. No additional details have been released at this time.

Driver arrested on DWI 2nd offense on North Freeway

HARRIS COUNTY, TX – A driver was arrested on the 17000 block of the North Freeway after displaying multiple signs of intoxication. The driver was identified as Jose Gonzalez Castillo. Deputies administered a series of Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and determined he was intoxicated. Further investigation revealed that Castillo had a prior conviction for Driving While Intoxicated. According to Constable Mark Herman, Castillo was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail. He is charged with Driving While Intoxicated – 2nd Offense. His bond was set at $100 out of County Court 4.

HOUSTON, TX – Shell Oil Products US announced the return of The Giving Pump, a charitable initiative now in its fifth year, encouraging customers to support local organizations by fueling up at designated purple pumps at Shell stations across the country. From now through October 31, consumers at nearly 6,500 participating Shell stations can contribute to charities assisting children and families, at no additional cost.
