Responding Westside patrol officers confirmed the remains appeared to be skeletal. According to police, at least two parts of a skull were visible. Investigators believe the remains are from one adult, but the gender, age, and cause of death are unknown at this time. The suspects opened fire, striking a male and female in their early 20s. A third pedestrian was not struck. According to police, the two-man unit was en route to a reported burglary when it left the roadway and crashed in a ditch.
