Man and woman wounded after exchanging gunfire at Sterlingshire apartment complex

HOUSTON, TX – Police are investigating after a man and woman exchanged gunfire in the parking lot of the Sterlingshire apartment complex in the 9000 block of Sterlingshire around 9:30 p.m. Friday. https://youtu.be/RvAexHGplVg According to Houston Police, officers with the Northeast Patrol Division arrived to find that both individuals had sustained gunshot wounds during an altercation. The woman was transported from the scene to a local hospital in stable condition. The man was transported from a nearby location, and his condition is unknown. Police said a third woman, who was in a vehicle with a man, left the scene but was later located at another nearby location and detained. It is unknown if she will face any charges.

Man charged with felony evading following short pursuit on North Freeway

HARRIS COUNTY, TX – A man has been charged after allegedly fleeing from deputies during a traffic stop on the North Freeway. According to Constable Mark Herman, Pct. 4, the incident occurred around 7:50 p.m. on August 1, 2025, in the 20100 block of the North Freeway. A deputy attempted to stop a vehicle, but the driver reportedly refused to pull over, initiating a brief pursuit. Deputies successfully stopped the vehicle and took the driver into custody. He was identified as Matthew Munoz, born July 2, 2006. Munoz was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail on one count of Evading Arrest in a Motor Vehicle. According to investigators, Gomez had allegedly been performing unlicensed procedures after the State suspended his chiropractic license following complaints of a sexual nature. Authorities with the Harris County Sheriff's Office Special Victims Division said they have since identified 12 additional survivors with varying complaints against Gomez. The Back to School Snow Cones for Kids event will begin at 10:00 a.m. at 6817 Cypresswood Drive, behind the Barbara Bush Library, and will continue while supplies last. The event is open to the public. Constable Herman’s Office has partnered with Sunny Daze to provide complimentary snow cones for children. Precinct 3 Commissioner Tom Ramsey will also be in attendance to help mark the occasion.
