One woman deceased, three injured after man opens fire following altercation with girlfriend

HOUSTON, TX — An altercation between a man and his girlfriend led to a shooting that left one woman deceased and three other people injured in the 9300 block of Fairland earlier today.

According to the Houston Police Department, officers responded around 2:37 a.m. and found four people with gunshot wounds.

Investigators said the man left after the altercation before returning to the residence with a firearm and opening fire. He then fled on foot.

The three surviving victims, two women and one man, were transported to local hospitals. The man was in critical condition and undergoing surgery. The two women appeared to be stable, but updated conditions were pending.

The people at the residence appeared to be family members, but their exact relationships had not been determined. Investigators were working to determine which woman had been in the dating relationship with the suspect.

No firearm had been recovered. Southeast Division officers and the patrol support team were searching the area for the suspect.
