Family files lawsuit after missing 8-year-old Aliyah Jaico found in swimming pool pipe in Northwest Houston

HOUSTON - The family of 8-year-old Aliyah who drowned at a Doubletree hotel Saturday night has already filed a lawsuit demanding at least one million dollars from the Hilton-branded hotel. Initially reported missing around 5:45 p.m., she was not found until 11:30 p.m. later that night when she was found inside a pipe that was connected to the lazy river-style pool. According to the lawsuit, “A team was then put together to drain the pool and video cameras were attached to 20-foot poles to inspect the pipes when her body was discovered wedged in the pipes of the malfunctioning pool equipment." The case is filed in Harris County District Court under Cause No. 202419020- 7.

HOUSTON - A store clerk was shot and killed shortly this morning at a Chevron located at 8524 Gulf Freeway. The Houston Fire Department was dispatched to the scene shortly after 1:30 a.m. According to one of our TikTok followers who also sent in the above photo, the man who was killed was the store clerk at the Chevron. He also knew the store clerk and described him as someone who was always nice and would let anyone inside. This post will be updated once the press release comes out. Man dies after crashing into another vehicle twice on Little York

HOUSTON - Houston police are conducting an investigation into a fatal crash that occurred at 400 East Little York Road around 8:20 p.m. on Saturday, March 16. The crash resulted in the death of a 63-year-old male. According to reports from HPD Vehicular Crimes Division, the incident involved the deceased driving a gray Ford Explorer westbound when he collided with a white Chevrolet Silverado 2500 under unclear circumstances. Man crossing Beltway feeder fatally struck by a vehicle exiting the freeway

HARRIS COUNTY - March 16, 2024 - A pedestrian was struck and killed in the 3400 block of E Sam Houston Parkway North Friday evening. The unidentified male pedestrian, who was crossing the northbound feeder road from east to west, failed to yield the right-of-way and was hit by the front left side of a Honda Ridgeline which was traveling northbound. The driver remained on the scene and checked on the male but the male did not show any signs of life according to deputies. The driver then called 911. Harris County Emergency Corps (HCEC) pronounced the male deceased at the scene. The driver was determined not to be intoxicated and was released from the scene.

https://youtu.be/7sB79CX-ZH8 MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX - Shortly before 3 a.m., Deputies with the Montgomery County's Sheriff's Office attempted to pull over a vehicle for a traffic violation headed southbound on the I-45 southbound feeder road from Sawdust. As officers tried to pull him over, the suspect vehicle came upon a crash scene. The suspect then put his vehicle into reverse and crashed into the patrol vehicle as the deputy was exiting the vehicle. This caused the deputy to fall to the ground. Fearing for his life as well as the emergency personnel that was at the crash, the officer discharged his weapon striking the suspect. HOUSTON - Police responded to the 5900 block of Schroeder for a report of a shooting shortly around 1:30 a.m. When police arrived, they discovered that a 16-year-old teen was shot in the hip at a house party with 30 or so friends in attendance. The teen was transported to the hospital and is expected to be okay. Police say that a couple of individuals who no one else seemed to know showed up at the party. An altercation broke out which led to the shooting. Both rifle and pistol casings were found at the scene. The suspects were described as Hispanic males and possibly fled in a blue Ford F-150 pickup truck. HOUSTON - Police responded to the 9800 block of Club Creek for a report of a shooting shortly after 1 a.m. When police arrived they found an individual with multiple gunshot wounds in the torso. Their gender is pending confirmation by the Medical Examiner's office. While reviewing the surveillance video, police noted that a white sedan was spotted driving through the area multiple times before someone opened fire with a pistol.
