He was pronounced deceased at the scene while responding to a shooting in progress. According to investigators, the victim was being dropped off by his cousin at home. The two began arguing during the drive, and the situation escalated into a physical altercation upon arrival. During the struggle, the victim was shot once and killed. The suspect does not live at the location, but the victim resided there with another family member.

Preliminary information indicates that suspects arrived at the location, and the victim, upon seeing them in the area, went outside to confront them. The confrontation escalated into gunfire. Police stated they have a good identification on the suspects, though no descriptions are being released at this time. The Major Assaults Division has been notified and is conducting the investigation.

HOUSTON, TX – A Houston police officer was injured in a suspected DWI crash early Saturday morning while conducting traffic control for an earlier incident on the North Freeway. https://youtu.be/Wj69723OcM4 The crash occurred around 1:28 a.m. on the northbound entrance ramp near the 10100 block of the North Freeway Service Road, just before West Road. While the officer was blocking the entry ramp, a pickup truck struck the patrol vehicle, causing significant damage and injuring the officer. The officer was transported to a local hospital and is currently in stable condition. The driver of the pickup truck is in custody, and investigators believe alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.

While en route, officers received updated information redirecting them to the area near a walking path and benches just west of a nearby park on W. Tidwell. Upon arrival, officers found the man with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was initially listed in critical condition. According to Houston TranStar, as of 4:57 a.m., the right shoulder, right lane, center lane, and exit ramp of IH-45 North at Patton were closed due to flooding.
