HARRIS COUNTY, TX – According to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, Harris County Sheriff’s Office units responded to a major crash involving an 18-wheeler rollover in the 17500 block of US-90. Life Flight was called and all eastbound main lanes of US-90 were temporarily closed. Traffic was diverted through the grass to the westbound side of the roadway at the beginning of the investigation. The condition of the driver remains unknown at this time. Shooter arrested in killing of off-duty Harris County Constable Deputy

HARRIS COUNTY, TX - The alleged shooter in the killing of off-duty Harris County Precinct 3 Deputy Constable Omar Ursin has been taken into custody. According to court documents, Douglas Wooten rolled down the back window of a vehicle and fired four shots at the car Ursin was driving. Ursin then crashed into a tree and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Court documents also reveal that Wooten claimed he fired because Ursin allegedly pointed a gun at him and others. However, investigators stated that Ursin’s weapon was holstered at the time. Wooten was arrested on November 27, 2024 in Saint Paul, Minnesota, more than two years after the August 2022 shooting. Driver charged with intoxication manslaughter after killing child in Harris County crash

HARRIS COUNTY, TX – Joel Enrique Gonzalez Chacin is facing felony intoxication manslaughter charges after causing a crash that killed a child and also hospitalized the driver of the vehicle the child was in. https://youtu.be/LYDG4HjeJb0 According to Constable Mark Herman, the crash occurred early Sunday morning in the 10900 block of Bammel North Houston Road. Investigators determined that Gonzalez Chacin, who displayed signs of intoxication at the scene, collided with another vehicle. The child who was a passenger in the other vehicle was later pronounced deceased at a hospital. The other driver was hospitalized as well.
