Car fire shuts down southbound lanes of North Freeway in Houston

HOUSTON, TX – A vehicle fire shut down southbound lanes of the North Freeway early Sunday morning in north Houston. https://youtu.be/_IHc-RgNDSk The fire was reported around 3:05 a.m. in the 9200 block of the North Freeway near Hidden Valley. All southbound lanes between W. Mount Houston Road and W. Gulf Bank Road were closed as crews responded to the scene, but have since reopened. It is unknown if there are any injuries at this time. The driver fled southbound at a high rate of speed, running multiple red lights as the deputy pursued.
