The backhoe is suspected to have been stolen or lifted from a nearby construction site. After the collision, the backhoe continued into a grassy area where it was abandoned. The suspect operating the backhoe fled the scene and remains at large. Investigators said the motorcycle driver died at the scene. The identity of the deceased has not yet been confirmed. The fire was successfully contained and prevented from spreading to nearby buildings. No occupants were affected. A minor water supply issue occurred due to a dead plug, but a working plug across the street was located without any meaningful delays. No firefighter injuries were reported.

After the impact, the patrol vehicle went through the apartment gate and struck an apartment building. HOUSTON, TX – Houston police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect wanted in connection with a fatal shooting that left two men dead in the 6300 block of Windswept Lane around 7:35 p.m. on November 7, 2025. According to the Houston Police Department Homicide Division, officers responded to an assault call near the address and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.
