The woman is now safe and sound at home with her family.

HARRIS COUNTY, TX – The Harris County Sheriff's Office has issued a missing person alert for 14-year-old Lakayla Jackson-Thrasher, who was last seen on September 17, 2024, in the 10100 block of Williams Field Drive in Houston. Lakayla is described as being 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 209 pounds. The incident occurred on August 18, 2024, at Deerbrook Mall (20131 Highway 59 in Humble, TX). Authorities are asking anyone who may recognize the individual pictured below to contact Detective D. HOUSTON, TX – Houston police are requesting the public's assistance in locating a person of interest in the fatal shooting of a man and the wounding of a woman at an apartment complex located in the 400 block of Greens Road. The incident occurred around 8:50 p.m. on Wednesday (September 18). The person of interest is identified as 41-year-old Jerrell Butler. A photo of Butler is below. The identity of the deceased male, 37, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. According to investigators, officers responded to the scene and found an unresponsive man with gunshot wounds and a 36-year-old woman with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. HOUSTON, TX – The Texas Center for the Missing has issued a Silver Alert on behalf of the Houston Police Department for 59-year-old Kelvin Butler. Butler was last seen on September 18, 2024, at 4:30 p.m. in the 9900 block of Sharpcrest. He was wearing a brown T-shirt with black print (Reebok), black and white joggers, and black tennis shoes. Butler has been diagnosed with dementia and is non-verbal. Authorities urge anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact the Houston Police Department immediately.
