Multi-county pursuit ends after driver goes off road

HOUSTON, TX – A law enforcement pursuit that began around 11:50 p.m. in Houston traveled across multiple counties before ending near Cleveland, Texas, shortly after 12:30 a.m. https://youtu.be/UT00AEpWPDg The chase reportedly started somewhere in the loop. The driver continued north through Harris and Montgomery counties before ending up in Liberty County. The pursuit ended when the driver exited the roadway near Majnik and Dudley on the U.S. 59 North Bypass, using the U-turn under the Eastex Freeway in Cleveland. The driver, who was operating a pickup truck, was evaluated by EMS on scene but was not transported to a hospital. The pursuit may have been initiated on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. According to the Friendswood Police Department, officers responded at approximately 11:05 a.m. on May 29, 2025, to a report of an armed robbery at Bank OZK, located at 301 E. Parkwood Ave. Witnesses provided information and surveillance video that enabled officers to identify the suspect vehicle and track it into Houston.
