On February 1, 2024, deputies from Constable Mark Herman's Office were dispatched to the 11300 block of Lodge Run Lane in response to a report from a Texas Department of Public Safety Aircraft Pilot. The pilot reported the aircraft being targeted with a laser. Upon arrival, deputies detained two male suspects, identified as Leonel Vasquez and Artemio Gonzales. Gonzales was discovered to have an active warrant for Tampering with Government Record. Both suspects were arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail. Leonel Vasquez was charged with Illumination of Aircraft by Intense Light, while Artemio Gonzales faced charges based on the outstanding warrant. As of now, their bonds and court dates have not been established.

CLEVELAND, TEXAS, February 2, 2024 – The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, in collaboration with Splendora Police Department and other law enforcement agencies, is investigating a homicide that occurred on Morgan Cemetery Road in Cleveland, Texas, on January 25, 2024. At approximately 3:20 a.m., deputies and officers responded to a 911 call from a woman reporting that three masked males forcibly entered her home, shooting her husband multiple times before fleeing. The victim was identified as 37-year-old Steven Santillan of Montgomery County, Texas. JEFFERSON, IA - Authorities have issued an AMBER Alert for 7-year-old Bryson Duong, an Asian male, who went missing on Jan. 30, 2024. Bryson is described as having black hair, brown eyes, about 3 feet 6 inches tall, and weighing 60 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black coat, black snow pants, a hat, and glasses. The suspect is 34-year-old Brandon Duong. They may be in a black Toyota Tacoma, Iowa license plate DFV202. Anyone with information is urged to contact law enforcement. Bryson Duong

HOUSTON, TX (January 31, 2024) A 50-year-old Houston man, Daniel A. Reyes-Gomez, has been sentenced to a 60-year prison term without the possibility of parole for the continuous sexual assault of two girls, ages 7 and 12, beginning in 2020. Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg emphasized the importance of trials in such cases to ensure justice for the young victims. Reyes-Gomez was convicted by a Harris County jury and chose to have his punishment determined by a judge, who imposed the sentence on Thursday. The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Danielle Oxford and Rachel Barlow, specializing in Crimes Against Children and Trafficking/Exploitation, respectively. Under Texas law, Reyes-Gomez is required to serve the full duration of his sentence.

An adult female suspect has been taken into custody after a disturbance call in the 1600 block of Tucumcari Drive. The incident involved the physical assault of a thirteen-year-old juvenile. GONZALES, Texas - Jan. 29, 2024 - The Gonzales County Sheriff's Office is actively seeking information regarding the whereabouts of Scarlett Smith, a 14-year-old girl last seen in the 15700 block of West US 90 A, Gonzales, TX at approximately 11:00 PM on Jan. 29, 2024. Scarlett is described as a white female with hazel eyes and red or auburn hair. She is about 54 inches tall and weighs approximately 187 pounds. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a red Nike hoodie. The primary suspect in this abduction is Barry Van Mersbergen, also known as Ben, a 22-year-old white male. HARRIS COUNTY - (January 30, 2024) - According to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, units from the Harris County Sheriff's Office responded to a fatal collision involving a train and a pedestrian. The incident occurred in the 6400 block of Ackley, with the initial impact reported near Homestead and Hamill Road. The pedestrian involved in the collision has been confirmed deceased.
