The incident occurred at approximately 11:20 p.m. on Saturday. Investigators report that two neighbors were engaged in an argument over who would pay for beer when one of the men shot the other. Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered a 40-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the stomach. The victim, a 23-year-old male, was changing a tire on the right shoulder of the northbound lanes when he was struck by a gray Pontiac G6. Paramedics arrived at the scene and pronounced the victim dead. The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences is currently working to verify the identity of the deceased.
