HOUSTON (June 18, 2023) — A 28-year-old woman was fatally shot in an apparent drive-by shooting outside her residence in Houston, police said. The incident occurred around 1 a.m. on Sunday, June 18, at 6420 Stratton Street, according to the Houston Police Department Homicide Division. The woman and several family members were outside their home when a vehicle believed to be a dark blue or purple sedan, possibly an Infinity, repeatedly drove past their residence. During the final pass, an unidentified assailant fired shots from within the vehicle, striking the woman. Emergency responders from the Houston Fire Department transported the woman to Ben Taub General Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. Responding officers reported that a Jeep traveling northbound crossed the median for reasons that are still unclear. After crossing the median, the Jeep collided head-on with a silver Mercedes moving southbound. There were four occupants in the Jeep at the time of the accident - a man, a woman, a teenager, and a child. Tragically, the man was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders from the Houston Fire Department. June 17, 2023 - A vehicle shooting occurred on the 15800 block of the Eastex Freeway in Houston, Texas around 12:25 a.m. The incident involved two vehicles, according to the Houston Police Department (HPD). One of the vehicles, a pickup truck crashed alongside the feeder road, while the other vehicle fled the scene. At the moment, HPD reports that there have been no injuries related to the incident.
