NACOGDOCHES, TX – A civil lawsuit was filed this morning in Sabine County on behalf of a family following a violent dog attack earlier this month. According to the filing, the family’s 10-year-old son was attacked on August 13, 2025, when three of their neighbors’ dogs trespassed into the family’s backyard and mauled him without provocation. The boy has undergone five surgeries and received more than 500 stitches as a result of the attack. The lawsuit states that the dogs were unvaccinated, aggressive, and allowed to roam the neighborhood without restraint. The child remains hospitalized at Texas Children’s Hospital. HARRIS COUNTY, TX – A woman was arrested after displaying a badge and impersonating a police officer during a traffic dispute in northwest Harris County. The incident occurred on August 23, 2025, around 8:50 a.m. in the 10300 block of Louetta Road. According to Constable Mark Herman’s Office, 30-year-old Joycelyn Jackson became upset with another driver’s erratic behavior and showed her Private Investigator badge in an attempt to pull the driver over. Believing she was law enforcement, the driver complied. Deputies determined Jackson was not a police officer. It was also discovered that she was out on a $35,000 bond for Aggravated Assault at the time of the incident. ARANSAS COUNTY, TX – The Rockport Volunteer Fire Department, alongside multiple mutual aid partners, responded to the Aransas 4010 Fire near Cape Valero on August 22, 2025. The fire burned approximately 54 acres of wetlands and heavy brush before being fully contained. No homes or structures were lost or damaged, though firefighters reported several were threatened and defended successfully.
