LIVINGSTON, TX – Officers with the Livingston Police Department executed a multi-stage drug enforcement operation early Thursday morning that resulted in three arrests and the seizure of nearly a pound of methamphetamine. According to the Livingston Police Department, officers from multiple shifts and divisions first initiated a traffic stop around 1 a.m. on Highway 190 West. K9 Bear alerted on the suspect vehicle, prompting a search. Multiple baggies of methamphetamine were discovered inside a hidden compartment in the backseat. The driver, identified as 61-year-old John Way, was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance. A female passenger was also arrested for outstanding warrants related to a local theft case. BRAZORIA COUNTY, TX – A suspect is in custody following a fatal shooting that occurred in the Lake Jackson Farms area on the afternoon of May 31. According to the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a call stemming from a domestic dispute and located one individual who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Life Flight transported the victim to a hospital, where they were later pronounced deceased. The suspect, identified as 41-year-old Curtis Gunter, initially fled the scene but later surrendered to deputies with the Matagorda County Sheriff’s Office. Gunter has been charged with one count of Murder, one count of Aggravated Kidnapping, and two counts of Aggravated Assault. He is currently being held on a $2,000,000 bond.
