Man already in jail charged in 2021 fatal shooting, car theft outside southwest Houston apartment

HOUSTON, TX – A suspect has been charged with capital murder in connection with a 2021 fatal shooting and vehicle theft outside a southwest Houston apartment complex. Shannon Washington, 46, was charged in the 232nd Criminal District Court on September 25. He is currently in custody with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) on an unrelated charge. A 2022 booking photo of Washington was released with the announcement. The victim, 28-year-old Dave Stephens, was shot and killed around 3:40 a.m. on April 18, 2021, in the 2900 block of South Gessner Road. Man charged with murder after fatal stabbing during fight at Broadhurst Drive home

HOUSTON, TX – A man has been arrested and charged with murder following a deadly stabbing at a home on Broadhurst Drive. The incident occurred around 1:10 p.m. on September 25 at a residence located at 6 Broadhurst Drive. According to Houston Police, officers responded to a report of a stabbing and found a 40-year-old male with stab wounds. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by paramedics. Detectives say the victim and another man got into a physical altercation, during which the suspect, identified as 29-year-old Jose Anthony Campos, allegedly stabbed the victim and fled the scene. Two coyote attacks reported in Saddle River while residents walked dogs

SADDLE RIVER, NJ – Two separate coyote attacks were reported in the Chestnut Ridge Road area within a 12-hour span on September 25 and 26, 2025. According to Saddle River Police, the first incident occurred Thursday evening near Chestnut Ridge Road and Werimus Road. A resident was attacked while walking his dog and sustained injuries that required medical treatment. The second incident was reported Friday morning near Chestnut Ridge Road and North Church Road, where a worker was attacked under similar circumstances while walking a dog. Cow in roadway struck by vehicle, injuring Dowagiac man

CASS COUNTY, MI – A 67-year-old man from Dowagiac was injured early Friday morning after his vehicle struck a cow in the roadway in Mason Township. According to Sheriff Clint Roach, the crash occurred around 3:31 a.m. on Sept. 26 in the 70400 block of Calvin Center Road. Deputies responded to the scene and found that Dale Killarney was traveling southbound when his vehicle collided with a cow. Killarney, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was unable to exit under his own power and was assisted out by deputies. He was transported by ambulance to Elkhart General Hospital in Indiana for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. SEPSA assisted deputies at the scene. The incident remains under investigation.

WILMINGTON, DE – Two 15-year-old male juveniles were arrested on gun and drug charges after Wilmington Police observed suspected drug activity in the 400 block of West 7th Street. According to police, the arrests took place around 12:56 p.m. on September 23, when members of the Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division approached the two juveniles and took them into custody without incident. One of the juveniles was found to be in possession of a loaded 9mm handgun. He was charged with two counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person prohibited and carrying a concealed deadly weapon. HOUSTON, TX – A suspect charged in the 2005 fatal shooting of a man at an apartment on Broadway Street has been arrested and returned to Houston to face prosecution. Luis Uriel Castillo, 39, is charged with capital murder in the 263rd Criminal District Court in connection with the death of 25-year-old Cornelius Ray. On January 10, 2005, Houston police responded to a welfare check at 8501 Broadway Street after friends were unable to contact Ray for several days.
