HOUSTON, TX - A major crash involving a HPD patrol vehicle occurred in the 2300 block of Preston just before 6 a.m. this morning. It appears that one other civilian vehicle was involved but it is not known at this time what caused the crash. We are working to gather more information about this accident and will update this page as soon as we learn more.

HOUSTON, TX - The Houston Fire Department responded to a report of a fire in the back of the Palms on Westheimer Apartment complex a little before 5 a.m. this morning. https://youtu.be/hIp39AAgjhA Firefighters were able to extinguish it rather quickly and there was not any damage to the nearby properties.

HOUSTON, TX - A woman was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds at an apartment complex Friday night. https://youtu.be/PKyHG0tmi60 According to the Houston Police Department, the woman was found in one of the garage hallways of 1711 Caroline, an apartment complex in Downtown Houston. She was found shortly after 11 p.m. The Houston Fire Department pronounced her deceased at the scene. Police do not have a suspect or motive for the shooting at this time. HOUSTON, TX - A pedestrian was struck by a pickup truck and transported to a nearby hospital late Friday night in the 2100 block of Lockwood. https://youtu.be/LdZHp6OLDLc According to a witness, a pickup truck was traveling down Lockwood when it swerved to avoid another vehicle that was about to cross Lockwood. As the truck was swerving, it struck a pedestrian. The truck then fled the scene. The pedestrian's status is currently unknown at this time and we will update you as we learn more.

HOUSTON, TX - An Uber driver was killed early Sunday morning after another vehicle struck his while he was trying to make repairs on the freeway. https://youtu.be/MqDs-qFmBB8?si=xCCIk-DoAcxIuUJ7 This occurred on the East Freeway near Kress shortly before 4 a.m. According to police, the Uber driver, in a Toyota Camry hit something that disabled his vehicle. He then moved to what he believed was the emergency lane but it was a moving lane of traffic. Both the rider and the driver exited the vehicle to see what was wrong. The rider got back into the vehicle and the Uber driver stayed outside of the vehicle to try and repair it. At one point, another vehicle, believed to be a dark pickup truck struck the Toyota Camry.
