HOUSTON, TX – The Houston Fire Department responded around 9 p.m. to a vacant strip center that caught fire for the second time this year. https://youtu.be/Di4WmkwLb-s According to Houston Fire Department Deputy Chief James Pennington, crews arrived and quickly shifted to a defensive attack. A two-alarm was pulled by incident command for additional manpower but was called off shortly after. Roughly 50 firefighters responded to the scene. A primary search confirmed no one was inside. The fire was contained, and crews remained for several hours to overhaul the structure, check for hidden hotspots, and manage traffic in the area. HOUSTON, TX – Houston Police say both the driver and an officer were taken to the hospital after a crash around 2:36 a.m. in the 800 block of T.C. Jester, in the Heights. HOUSTON, TX – A call came in around 4 a.m. for a van stuck in water on the westbound lanes of the East Freeway near Lockwood. https://youtu.be/A5uos69d3kY Once HFD responded, a woman got out of the van and placed her belongings into another vehicle before crews cleared the scene.

HOUSTON, TX – A shooting occurred around 11 p.m. in the 3800 block of Hitchcock Lane at Cloverland Park. https://youtu.be/9WKP7H65Jt8 Officers arrived and encountered a large crowd. A female with a gunshot wound to the leg and a male with a gunshot wound to the stomach were located. Both victims, believed to be teens, were transported to a nearby hospital. Police say the female is believed to be in stable condition. The male was pronounced deceased shortly after arriving at the hospital.
