Officials said there were unconfirmed reports of a possible explosion. The mother sustained spot burns to her leg and was transported to a hospital in stable condition. No other injuries were reported. The fire is believed to have started in the garage, possibly involving cooking equipment, before spreading to the rest of the home. HOUSTON, TX – A woman was killed and a toddler was transported to a hospital after a suspected impaired driver ran a red light in west Houston. https://youtu.be/H_vEATNu_aU The crash occurred just after 1 a.m. at the intersection of Clay Road and the West Sam Houston Tollway feeder road. According to the Houston Police Department Vehicular Crimes Division, a pickup truck traveling on the Sam Houston Tollway feeder road ran a red light and struck a small sedan that had just entered the intersection on a green light. The impact pushed the woman’s vehicle a very long way through the intersection before it came to rest on a curb. HOUSTON, TX – A white Tesla led officers on a chase in northeast Houston before crashing near Wayside Drive and South Sgt. Macario Garcia Drive. https://youtu.be/ov3-xQXHbxw The pursuit ended when the Tesla crashed while coming off Wayside onto South Sgt. Macario Garcia Drive. MISSOURI CITY, TX – Firefighters responded to a house fire in the 6700 block of Fuqua in Missouri City. https://youtu.be/_7_SXU8kATk Heavy flames were coming from the home as crews with the Houston Fire Department worked to extinguish the fire. There were initial reports that people may have been trapped inside, but all the occupants managed to make it out before HFD arrived. Ten people were displaced but fortunately, there were not any injuries. It is unknown at this time if there were any injuries. The cause of the fire has not been released. HOUSTON, TX – An adult male was killed in a suspected hit-and-run crash along Scott Street near Anita Street. https://youtu.be/jqJvnyX3MTM Houston Police Department Vehicular Crimes Division investigators responded to the 3000 block of Scott, where all northbound lanes were shut down as officers investigated an auto-pedestrian fatality. According to police, investigators believe one or possibly multiple vehicles initially struck the man, leaving him in a moving lane of traffic next to the Metro rail line. A female driver then ran over him after he was already on the ground. Police said the female driver remained at the scene and has cooperated with investigators. HOUSTON, TX – A man was shot and killed by officers during an officer-involved shooting outside a hotel in southwest Houston. https://youtu.be/wtWJb4KwmTU Police responded shortly after 9 p.m. to a shooting in progress at the Comfort Inn & Suites located at 11050 Southwest Freeway. Officers arrived within minutes and observed a male suspect walking from the south side of the building holding a rifle. According to police, officers gave repeated verbal commands for the suspect to drop the weapon. The suspect refused, and officers discharged their firearms. The suspect, described as a Hispanic male in his 60s, was struck and pronounced deceased at the scene.
