HOUSTON - A 5-year-old child died after being found unresponsive in the swimming pool at the Cortland Wortham Apartments on the Fourth of July, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office. Deputies responded to a life-in-danger call at the apartment complex in the 10225 block of Wortham Boulevard, where EMS personnel were already administering CPR to the child. According to the Houston Police Department, the patrol unit was traveling westbound on Clay Road when it collided with a civilian vehicle traveling northbound on Gessner.
