HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A driver was killed early Wednesday morning after a single-vehicle crash on the Eastex Freeway feeder road near Lauder that caused the vehicle to catch fire, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office. Deputy Anderson with the Harris County Sheriff's Office Vehicular Crimes Division said deputies from the District 2 Patrol Division responded at approximately 1:38 a.m. to the crash scene. GALENA PARK, Texas — Galena Park Mayor Oscar Mireles, along with city officials and workers, responded to flooding at multiple locations following last night's storms. According to Mireles, flooding at the entrance of The Manor subdivision is a recurring drainage issue that occurs when the area receives rainfall. City crews deployed pumps to help remove the standing water instead of allowing it to drain naturally.
